Family purchased grouping to FK Obergefreiter Adolf F. containing his personal Soldbuch and photos. F. served with U-778.

Iron Cross 2nd Class (1.2.45), U-Boot War Badge (1.2.45), Iron Cross 1st Class (20.4.45), U-Boot Front Clasp in bronze (20.4.45).
All medals were awarded in 1945 as two groups of medals per day!
U-778 is mentioned on page 14a! A ink signature of commander of U-778 German Cross in gold recipient Oberleutnant zur See Ralf Jürs.
There is a "U 317" not from December 1943 on page 23 so he must have also served with the boat of Oberleutnant Peter Rahlf. He must have joined the crew of U-778 on 7.7.1944 as a note on page 25 says. Indeed, there is a crew photo of U-778 with an ink dedication of the commander Ralf Jürs to the reverse commemorating the 7.7.1944. The same picture comes framed (marked 1949) as part of this grouping.
There are roughly 50 original photos from his time as a soldier and many period time postcards.
