Description

A very rare Soldbuch to Oberwachtmeister Hugo Schulz serving with Flakversuchstelle der Luftwaffe Karlshagen (Peenemünde-West). The unit was responsible for the development of anti-aircraft ammunition and was directly subordinate to the Ministry of Aviation under the leadership of Generalluftzeugmeister Ernst Udet (1939-1941) and Generalfeldmarschall Erhard Milch. Oberwachtmeister Schulz was also a member of the Condor Legion and served with 5./Flakabteilung 88.

Issued on 2. September 1939. His original photo is in place. "Der Reichsminister der Luftfahrt und Oberbefehlshaber der Luftwaffe Nr. 486" stamped. Page 3 shows his promotions and page 4 the units. Awards: 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class, Spanish Cross in Silver, Spanish Red Cross Medal "Medalla de la Cruz Roja de la Campaña", Spanish Medal "Medalla de la Campaña", Wound Badge in Black, Luftwaffe Flak Badge, East Medal, and 1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords. Listed on pages 21 and 22. The Soldbuch is full of entries and comes with all pages. 

Luftwaffe recruitment document. Dated 17./20. June 1938. Signed by an Oberleutnant.

Luftwaffe promotion document. Promoted to Wachtmeister. Dated 1. March 1942. Signed by a Major. 

A document from the F.88 (Condor Legion). It states that the pistol "Astra 9mm" is his property. Dated 8. June 1939.

Including three postwar documents. One of them is an excellent documentation of his military service.

His service at Peenemünde was confirmed by the Bundesarchiv.
