German WW1 period time M17 helmet with a 1920s period time outer paint in untouched condition. Green grey paint with remnants of a slanted decal potentially for a freikorps member or possibly for the Reichswehr.
Rust to the inside. Outside paint in good condition but with surface rust as welll. Signs of wear.
Original applied inner ring and rivets - they appear to have been opened at one point. Showing an ealry leather liner ring but only two of the three liner pads remain.
Marked with stamps to the helmet are not readable
An interesting early helmet.
