Description

Document group of Hauptmann Johannes Naumann, a Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross 1939 Winner, credited with 34 aerial victories claimed in roughly 350 combat missions consisting of the following items:

  1. Award document for the Iron Cross 1st Class, 1939, from September 30, 1940, with original ink signature. One fold and hole punches.
  2. Award document for the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, 1939, from November 09, 1944, with original ink signature. One fold and hole punches. Swastikas have been tampered with.

Johannes Naumann (October 11, 1917 – March 22, 2010) was a distinguished German Luftwaffe pilot during World War II, recognized as a fighter ace with 34 aerial victories achieved in approximately 350 combat missions, all over the Western Front. After the war, he continued his career in the newly formed West German Air Force, the Bundeswehr, where he went on to command Helicopter Transport Wing 64.
