Description

Rare proposal for the award of the Honor Roll Clasp to SS-Obersturmführer Johann Velde. He served with the SS-Panzer-Grenadier Regiment "GERMANIA". Part of the 5. SS-Panzer-Division "Wiking“.

The proposal describes his combat mission in the Cherkasy Pocket very well. Signed by SS-Obersturmführer Hans Dorr and SS-Standartenführer Karl Ullrich. Dated "13.11.1944". SS-Obergruppenführer Herbert Otto Gille confirmed the proposal on 18.11.1944. He signed the document on the back. All three SS officers were highly decorated.

SS-Obersturmführer Johann Velde was also awarded the German Cross in Gold on 21.11.1944.

Signs of use and the document has two holes.
