Document grouping to Leutnant d.R. Rudolf Materlik serving with Panzer-Grenadier-Ersatz-Regiment "Großdeutschland". From 08. May 1945 until 21. December 1945 he served as a "Lagerkommandant" (head of a prisoner-of-war camp) with the Wehrmachtkommandantur in the Schleswig district, under the leadership of the 29th English Brigade.
The grouping comes with several period time documetns and prisoner-of-war documetns. Leutnant Materlik was awarded the 1939 Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Class, the Wound Badge in Black, the Infantry Assault Badge, and the Close Combat Clasp in Bronze.
Also enclosed is his Heer photo album with 160 photos. Among them are photos from the front, a visit by Adolf Hilter to the troops, nice portrait photos, and the cuff title "Großdeutschland" can also be seen on some photos. The album was compiled by the veteran after the war using original photos.
