Description

Heer cavalry visor cap with "Goldgelb" piping.

Cap eagle and wreath badge are made of zinc, the eagle was probably added later and does not match in patina. All prongs in place.

Textbook officer's chin strap with screw-on epaulet buttons in field gray instead of the usual cotter pin buttons. Promoted cap of an enlisted rank.

Light yellow silk lining with several major damages and open seams in clearly worn condition. The celluloid diamond is intact, with the maker's mark "Clemens Wagner" and a subsequently attached adhesive label with the number 48. The brown leather sweatband is intact and still soft, but also in worn condition. The sweatband is stamped "3X" on the inside at the back right.

The outside of the hat has several moth bites and damage to the piping.

Look at the pictures.
