Prussia - Hussar officer's busby (Husaren-Regiment Nr.8)

Description
Busby hat for an officer serving with Husaren-Regiment „Kaiser Nikolaus II. von Russland“ (1. Westfälisches) Nr. 8 based at Neuhaus castle near Paderborn.

Fine quality fur hat with silvered bandeau "MIT GOTT FÜR KÖNIG UND VATERLAND". Convex officer's chin strap correctly attached with one single "Reichskokarde" cockade to one side. Prussian officer's cockade (Feldzeichen) attached to the original wire which is however loose (see close-up). It will hold fine once on display.

Fur in excellent condition. No moth damage or small. Blue (mittelblau) "Kolpak" only worn by Husaren-Regiment 8. Including the original parade feather bush. Please note that the base of the bush should be from silvered metal, this one however is from leather. Looks like an old repair.
Complete with the "Fangschnur" with nice patina.

Fine silk lining with white leather sweat-band. Sign of wear but no damage.

Around 1900-1914.
Size 56.
