WWI Inf.Rgt.17 field tunic - Leutnant
Description
Untouched WWI period time field tunic of a Bavarian Leutnant serving with Königlich Bayerisches 17. Infanterie-Regiment „Orff". This Leutnant was awarded the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Bavarian Military Merit Cross as you can see on two ribbons period time applied to his breast pocket button.
A private purchased M15 tunic constructed with two breast pockets and an officer's collar from Bavarian cloth (Abzeichentuch). It was exactly tailored like that and comes with original attached buttons (one missing to one lower pocket). Nothing has been modified or added postwar. He prefered a light grey color as well.
Brown silk and cotton lining. No markings since it is private purchased.
Very good condition. No moth damage apart from a few bits.
