Description
Grouping to  Gefreiter Walter Pfisterer who served with Inf.Rgt.523 until 12.9.1942. It was part of the 297. Infanterie-Division. and was destroyed in Stalingrad in January 1943.

Pfisterer was extremely lucky. He was insured on 30.7.1942 and spent several months in military hospitals when his comrades from Inf.Rgt.524 fought and died in Stalingrad. He was released from hospital in January 1943 and was never sent back to Stalingrad.

The certificate to the Infantry Assault Badge was signed by commander of Inf.Rgt.523 Knight´s Cross recipient Oberst Moritz von Drebber. Von Drebber was promoted to a Generalmajor on 21.1.1943 and served as the last commander of 297.Inf.Div. before it was destroyed a few days later. H was captured by the Russian on 25.1.1943 and was released in 1949.

Wehrpaß with many entries. Certificate to Infantry Assault Badge in silver and Wound Badge in black. Both medals are written into the Wehrpaß which is slightly water damaged.

Nice grouping.
