Impressive, extremely rare and large Third Reich enamel sign VOLKSGEMEINSCHAFT. The Volksgemeinschaft newspaper was a so called "Kampfblatt der Nationalsozialisten" so a NSDAP connected propaganda newspaper located in Heidelberg. The enamel sign shows the distribution area (Verbreitungsgebiet) of the newspaper in the Heidelberg area. It says Gauamtliches Organ der NSDAP, Gau Baden which says that this newspaper is an official paper of the NSDAP Gau Baden.

The condition of the sign looks to be very good condition. However, the sign has been most professionally repaired. This man certainly knew what he was doing and must have been working for a enamel company Im guessing. You will have to look very very closely to find the small bits which were repaired. It will be even hard to find on the close-ups.
