The Life Savings Medal was issued on December 18, 1918, by the senate of the city of Luebeck, transforming the medal into a wearable decoration. The medal was made by the L. Ostermann company in Berlin. The supplied a total of 70 medals to the senate’s administration. Only 55 medals were awarded in total.
