A period German pioneer short axe carrier case, late war construction in black pressed cardboard. A harder variation to find. Complete with steel hardware belt attachment clip. In mint / unissued condition. The carrier is nicely marked along the interior flap with the three letter makers code, year of production « gmn44 » and Waffenamt. The exterior is only stamped with the weight designation for the axe head « 1,5 Kg ». A scarce piece of combat engineer / pioneer fieldgear.
